Georgia Aquarium

The Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta is the largest aquarium in the world, and is a must see for any aquarist. Here is a shot of one of the planted tanks. This one in particular being a planted discus tank.

The layout of aquarium is spacious though we did happen to go on a day that was incredibly crowded. You might want to call ahead to check into the best day and time to visit in order to avoid the rush. Even after visiting the Baltimore Aquarium and the Newport Aquarium in the past I remained thoroughly impressed.

Here's two flickr tag sets of the Georgia Aquarium a very nice set here, you can also find another set here.

If you do visit the Georgia Aquarium you can thank the co-founder of Home Depot Benard Marcus who is attributed with single-handedly funding the building of the aquarium in Atlanta.
